Job description
The role of Line Cook reports directly to the Head Chef.
This role cooks and prepares a variety of food products including the mains of meats and seafood, appetizers, vegetables, sauces, other food products in classic Italian cuisine using a variety of equipment and utensils according to kitchen protocol and standards.
Key Accountabilities- Ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with preset recipes.
- Ensure food quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products.
- Scheduling rosters and placing food orders.
- Prepare and follow a daily prep sheet to indicate levels on hand and amounts required.
- Prepare an inventory stocking sheet on a weekly basis.
- Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
- Passion for fresh ingredients and producing great food every day.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
- Must work well within a restaurant team culture.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision and have a strong initiative.
- A positive and teamoriented attitude.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role is required and any technical training will be highly desirable.
