Barbers stay up to date on the latest hair trends and styling methods.

Additionally, Barbers need to be expert "people persons" to attract and retain long-term customers. This requires good interpersonal and conversational skills.

In the Barber role you will shampoo, blow-dry, cut, style the clients hair and facial hair. You will be responsible for making the customer feel relaxed and pampered throughout the service.

Success in this role will be demonstrated by helping the studio achieve its daily sales quota, improving client retention, expanding clientele as well as supporting the studio's diverse and inclusive culture.

Barber Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Helps foster and maintain a relaxed, positive and fun studio environment.
• Welcomes clients in a warm and friendly manner, accompanying them to their chair. Thanking them sincerely on departure.
• Performs client consultations.
• Cuts and styles hair as per client's request.
• Keeps tools and work areas clean and sanitized.
• Advises clients on proper hair and scalp care and styling options.
• Adhering to appointments in a timely manner by monitoring a time schedule.

Maintaining product knowledge to promote and sell studio products and services.

• Building a personal relationship with clients by engaging and conversing with clients during their services on topics related to their interests. Attend training and information sessions.

Barber Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Barbering experience.
• Barber License (Nova Scotia Registered Barbers Association).
• A wide pallet of cutting and styling techniques.
• Knowledge of different hair tools and products.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina.
• Attention to detail.
• Creative mindset and good eye for design.
• Positive attitude.
• Desire to learn and grow.

Salary:
From $18.00 per hour


Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kentville, NS B4N 1H9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- hair styling: 1 year (preferred)
