- Drive efficiencies, cost reductions, and long-term improvements in the Customer's Turnaround Processes
- Perform turnaround scope optimization: replacement vs repair opportunities, application and history reviews, obsolescence reviews
- Build detailed repair scopes and preliminary schedule using Customer equipment strategy as a guide
- Collect, organize and document key data required for turnaround execution
- Develop an outage diagnostics program leveraging smart positioners to track valve health and performance.
- Work with the Planning Team to assist with pre-Turnaround scheduling and logistics planning (criticality/priority review, offsite vendor repair logistics, ordering of required goods)
- Act as Single Point of Contact (logistics and technical) for onsite/offsite vendor repair facilities working directly with the Turnaround and Engineering teams through to turnaround completion
- Review outage diagnostics results and advise the Customer regarding path forward
- Repair documentation collection and quality control
- Post Outage Reporting Turnaround results including remaining challenges or concerns and lessons learned Recommendations for future turnarounds Recommendations for asset strategy adjustment Efficiencies found through the Optimization Program (QBR's)
- Engineering Degree, Instrumentation Technologist Diploma or Instrumentation Journeyman designation from an accredited institution
- 3+ Years industry experience in an operating process facility
- Experience sizing & specifying industrial control & isolation valves is an asset
- Experience working with Emerson devices and AMS Device Manager/Valvelink software is an asset
- Experience in a Turnaround, Maintenance or Reliability Specialist role is an asset
- Proven Customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Turnaround Optimization Specialist to work within the Spartan Valve & Measurement Reliability Services Team. For the first year of employment, this position will be based in Calgary or Edmonton*. After which this position will be based in Fort McMurray, so the successful candidate will be expected to relocate (support provided) . (*Please note that each location has a separate job posting, candidates need only apply for one or the either).
The role is focused on working directly with Strategic Customers as a key member of their Turnaround teams to optimize valve scopes, reduce customer costs & support long term improvement initiatives.
