    How You Will Make an Impact

    The Recruitment Specialist at Good Shepherd plays a pivotal role in shaping the Good Shepherd's workforce by strategizing and executing comprehensive talent acquisition plans. Working closely with hiring managers and HR team, the specialist gains a deep understanding of talent needs to develop targeted recruitment strategies, ensuring the attraction of a diverse and qualified candidate pool.

    Responsibilities include drafting job postings, implementing creative sourcing strategies through various channels such as job boards, social media, and professional networks. The role also entails proactive candidate sourcing and may include screening, including resume reviews, conducting initial interviews, and assessing technical abilities to shortlist candidates that align with job requirements and organizational culture. Ensuring a smooth and communicative selection process, the Recruitment Specialist manages candidate engagement effectively, fostering positive relationships and providing timely feedback.

    Beyond recruitment, the specialist is tasked with enhancing Good Shepherd's employer brand, leveraging recruitment marketing techniques, and representing the organization at various events to attract talent. Data management and analysis form a critical part of the role, requiring the maintenance of candidate records and the generation of reports to measure recruitment efficacy. Continuous improvement is a key focus, with the specialist staying abreast of industry trends and innovations to refine recruitment processes continually.

    This also includes the development and delivery of training programs for new co-workers on using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and comprehensive training in recruitment and retention practices. This dynamic role demands a blend of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a commitment to fostering an engaging candidate experience, contributing significantly to Good Shepherd's mission and values.


    What You'll Bring to Our Team

    • Post-secondary education in a related field and previous experience in an in a similar capacity
    • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience
    • Demonstrated work ethic in leadership and role modelling of behaviours that demonstrates the Mission, Vision and Values of Good Shepherd Centres
    • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably Applicant Pro
    • Provide service in a dignified and respectful manner that reflects the charism of Good Shepherd Centres and which integrates anti-oppression/anti-racism frameworks
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
    • Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional communication
    • Experience managing Outlook Calendar or similar scheduling tools
    • High level of organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, including scheduling, project management, and event planning
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make sound decisions quickly, especially in the executive's absence
    • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a calm, professional demeanor under pressure
    • The ability to be responsive to the needs of others with a respectful and compassionate demeanor
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, computer, interpersonal and organizational skills
    • To observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and regulations and to work in a manner that minimizes risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd Centres.
