Key Accountabilities:


  • Generating detailed quantity take off's and tagged items list.
  • Support field Operations groups in the execution of shaft equipping, underground excavation, and underground construction activities.
  • Construction progress tracking and data collection of daily work advancement.
  • Identify and engage with engineering to mitigate issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned sessions.
  • Ensure Materials Risk actions are reviewed and mitigated.
  • Engage with quality control personnel for verification of field installations.
  • Participate and act as scribe with various groups.
  • Placing material requests to support execution of FIWP's.
  • Coordinate equipment kitting and staging along with participating in parts assembly.
  • Update and create hard copy binder of FIWP complete with handover checklist.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Articulate potential risks and opportunities within the planned works.
  • Practical approach to engineering and design problems.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills with both operations and technical teams.
  • Solid level of proficiency and knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Experience with large capital projects.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to present information in group settings.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • High level of confidentiality and trust.
  • Able to effectively prioritize workload to ensure strict deadlines are met.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Able to organize, compile, and analyze information from multiple sources.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.
  • General knowledge of provincial and federal mining acts and regulations.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree or a Technologist Diploma, accredited by the relevant accrediting body.
  • Experience specific to structural, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical or mine engineering discipline.
  • Previous relevant work experience in mining or heavy construction.
  • Experience in Canadian shaft sinking methods or underground construction considered an asset.
