POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The DC Quality Assurance Coordinator performs tasks associated with the receipt, storage, and shipment of product.

Effectively and efficiently uses established procedures, tools, equipment, and technologies to complete transactions related to inbound and outbound processes within a Distribution Center (DC).

This role is intended to build upon skills learned in previous roles within the Inventory Control Quality Assurance (ICQA) department and other DC operational positions.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Processes customer returns.
  • Processes damaged inventory and coordinates donation trailers.
  • Resolves inventory discrepancies, zero picks, failed allocations, cycle recounts and performs stock checks.
  • Processes inbound exceptions, misrouted freight, and Return Goods Issued (RGA)
  • Performs random and quality audits on the dock and put away locations for inventory, order and date sensitive quality issues.
  • Troubleshoot orders using SAP/EWM.
  • All tasks above will be performed in both bulk and bin areas.
  • Provides feedback on how to improve exception type work through work with internal partners as well as external corporate partners.
  • Performs adjustments to inventory in the warehouse management system.
  • Meet or exceed daily productivity, quality and safety goals
  • General awareness of all subprocesses that support DC operations.
  • Must be willing to perform all job duties listed on a regular basis.
  • Willing and able to fill in for other positions both inside and outside of ICQA including Inbound Check in and put away and Outbound picking and packing depending on shift coverage needs.
  • Performs necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 13 years of experience in a related field preferred.
  • Must have good communication skills written and verbal.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • SAP and EWM/MOVE experience preferred (or like systems).
  • Data entry, excel, and access skills are preferred for reporting and analytics Must be able to meet minimum performance expectations consistently.
  • Must have a proven quality track record and passion for improving quality.
  • Must display a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and good math skills.
  • Problem solving and LEAN thinking skills to allow for continuous improvement to the inventory maintenance needs of the DC.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Must be able and willing to be licensed to operate PIE (warehouse machines)
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50lbs. depending on job assignment
  • Must be able to tolerate heat, cold, noise, and dust in a warehouse environment and work around moving equipment
  • Must be able to meet minimum performance expectations.
  • Ability to work in a position requiring continuous standing and walking, repetitive and continuous lifting up to 50lbs, occasional assisted lifting over 50lbs.

IMPACT:


  • This position will perform maintenance type tasks related to optimizing DC storage and throughput while maintaining and improving inventory accuracy.
  • This role impacts the overall productivity of the building as well as the storage space available to process new receipts to drive inventory availability.
  • This role involves accurately handling thousands of dollars' worth of Grainger's inventory within the warehouse to ensure proper book keeping for internal and external auditors as well as SOX compliance.
  • This position directly impacts customer satisfaction and Branch partnerships through quality assurance and communication.
