PLEA Community Services is currently seeking an
Excluded Temporary Full-Time HR Recruitment Assistant (Canada Summer Jobs) for our HR team.

This position will be a 16 week term-contract with a projected end date of September 2, 2023. This position is excluded from BCGEU membership.

This job is partially funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

In consultation with the Recruitment Specialist, the HR Recruitment Assistant contributes to PLEA's brand recognition amongst job seekers and students through a variety of projects.

These projects include, but are not limited to, the development of creative recruitment campaigns, the redesign of PLEA's job posting format and the creation of new HR and recruitment related resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Participates in various recruitment projects, including redesigning PLEA's job posting format.
  • Supports the Recruitment Specialist in developing a comprehensive, competencybased Question & Answer Bank for job competitions.
  • Assists the Recruitment Specialist in developing effective and creative recruitment campaigns for hardtofill positions.
  • Supports the development of PLEA's student program.
  • Prepares and assembles materials for HRrelated activities, and creates HR/recruitment related documents.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Protects and upholds confidentiality.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare engaging written content.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, administrative and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, make sound decisions and be held accountable for results.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the pursuit of organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to be sensitive and understanding of individuals' social realities including issues of race, culture, religion, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, poverty and lifestyle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment best practices, applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:


  • Enrollment in a Human Resources, or Business Administration with an HR concentration, university program.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, database systems and webbased conferencing tools.

Requirements:


  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Clearance.
  • Use of Personal Vehicle. This position requires travel in the Lower Mainland.
  • A valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5 or Class 7), and suitable driver's abstract.
  • The _usual_ hours of work in this position are Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, based on 37.5 working hours per week.
  • Documentation that applicant is legally approved to work in Canada.
  • Our funding contracts require that successful applicants are fully vaccinated against COVID19 prior to their start date.
