Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Information Security the Cyber Security Specialist will implement, manage and support Security Infrastructure and policies to ensure the organization cybersecurity maturity goals are met

Responsibilities:


  • Implement and maintain Stringent cyber security systems within the organizational infrastructure
  • Review incoming technology and Vendors to ensure due diligence was completed
  • Liaise with similar organizations to ensure industries standards are being maintained at the hospital and to prepare for experiences or incidents that have happened elsewhere
  • Work with existing infrastructure team to ensure all security policies and procedures are implemented
  • Monitor the systems for vulnerabilities
  • Educating the SHN user base to protect against people vectored cyber attacks
  • Security and incident management
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Active monitoring SIEM
  • Manage Security awareness training
  • Evaluation of new systems, services and vendors for security due diligence
  • Security Policy review
  • Work with regional partners to ensure shared systems are secure and we are prepared for emerging threats
  • Other Duties as assigned

Requirements:


  • Degree or diploma in relevant Technology Field
  • 5+ years work experience managing Cyber Security infrastructure in an enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise network, cyber security systems, vulnerabilities and support requirements
  • Knowledge of the healthcare domain, trends and standards is desired
  • Project planning, management and implementation experience
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the systems development lifecycle and processes
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
  • An independent thinker with strong business acumen, analytical and conceptualization skills, and the ability to identify process improvements as necessary
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular inservice education in this area.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing education and learning
  • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
  • Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
