Help Desk Analyst


The Help Desk Analyst is a crucial member of the IT department, responsible for providing first-level support for all IT activities at Lycée Français de Toronto.

In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure, directly impacting the educational experience of our staff and students.


Job description

  • Provide comprehensive onsite technical support for staff and students, resolving issues and performing preventive maintenance on computers with diverse operating systems (Windows 10/11, macOS, and ChromeOS), Apple mobile devices (iPads and iPhones), printers, and audiovisual equipment. As the first point of contact for all ITrelated issues, ensure prompt and effective resolution of technical problems.
  • Utilize IT management tools such as Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems, software deployment platforms, Google Admin for ChromeOS devices management, and Active Directory with Group Policy Objects (GPO) for efficient management of devices, software, and network policies.
  • Assist the IT Manager with infrastructure and security tasks, including the administration of network devices (firewall, switches, Wi-Fi access points), servers (Microsoft and Linux), virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere ESXi), file backup systems (Veeam), and physical security systems (such as fob access and surveillance cameras).
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and maintain security standards such as confidentiality and integrity at all times. Responsibilities include managing endpoint security and implementing multifactor authentication (MFA).
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance calls to ensure the smooth operation of IT
- infrastructure.

  • Participate in IT training initiatives, providing staff with technical support and instruction on software usage, enduser equipment operation, computer performance optimization, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Participate in IT projects, some of which may require afterhours availability for tasks such as software changes or event preparation.
  • Provide support for IT emergencies after office hours, alternating with the IT Manager to ensure continuous IT operations.

Qualifications required

  • Computer science degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of IT experience in a similar field
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS, Windows 10 and Chrome OS systems
  • Great adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ and Google are a major asset
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP required to solve user connectivity problems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory is an asset
  • ITIL certification is an asset
  • Experience in the education sector is an asset

  • Local law contract under the terms of the collective agreement with APLFT
