Manager, Business Planning and Performance Reporting to join our talented team of leaders for an 18-month temporary assignment (with a possibility for extension).

Job Overview

Reporting to the Director, Planning, Performance and Risk, the Manager, Business Planning and Performance Reporting is accountable for all aspects of the end-to-end multi-year business planning cycle.

This includes translating the organization's strategic vision and goals and taking core operational and innovative initiatives prioritized within financial and operational targets, to the preparation and provision of timely performance reporting.


The Manager provides leadership to multi-disciplinary teams; works closely with all levels of the organization and maintains effective working relationships with the Ministry responsible for BC Assessment, Crown Agency Resourcing Office and the Office of the Auditor General.

You need to be an exceptional communicator with strong organization and planning skills.

You work easily with all levels within the organization, but thrive at the leadership level with the strategic plan and direction as your guidepost.

You are a natural facilitator that can take leaders through an engaging and inclusive process in order to achieve successful outcomes, make difficult trade-offs and decisions, and ultimately define their business plans.

You can work collaboratively with all levels of staff when implementing, assessing, monitoring and reporting on issues related to the integrated planning process and act as champion for an innovative and agile mindset in the pursuit of strategic and business objectives.

You have experience in the public sector, planning and performance measurement. Your strong attention to detail is balanced by the ability to see the big picture.

You can articulate and inspire vision among others and help make a link between business issues, performance results and strategy.

You are adept at listening and consulting to make plans tangible, measureable and aligned.

You are grounded by the 'why' and as a leader, can help leaders realize the 'how' as it pertains to business planning.


Key Accountabilities

  • Manages BC Assessment's (BCA) multiyear endtoend integrated business planning cycle, which translates and aligns the organization's strategic vision and goals with core operational and innovation initiatives.
  • Manages and controls the design and evaluation of BCA's integrated business planning and reporting framework and related systems and polices to ensure they support BCA's strategic direction and decisionmaking needs, with a focus on data integrity and timeliness.
  • Provides expertise to BCA's Executive, senior leaders, and the Board of Directors in developing and executing its multiyear integrated business plan and monitoring ongoing sustainability of BCA's initiatives within established financial and operational targets.
