    Your mission as a Cloud Data Architect within the GT-CPC Business unit, at CGI, involves leading initiatives to architect, model, and implement robust data infrastructure that aligns with the organization's strategic goals.


    Reporting to the Director, Consulting Services for the Analytics and AI practice, the Cloud Data Architect collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to define data strategy, develop data architecture, and drive innovation and thought-leadership in data management practices.

    Working closely with our business partners, this successful candidate will be part of a practice team that advocates for the use of advanced Data technologies to solve business problems, deliver modern solutions and be a thought-partner in the Data Analytics, AI, and Cloud spaces; all while building credibility and business relationships with two of our main CGI stakeholders: the client and our members.

    Your future duties and responsibilities


    • Build, own, and run data engineering pipelines, workflows and standardized practices for delivering new products and capabilities using Data and Cloud technologies, including data transformation, processing and analysis.
    • Participate in all aspects of Data solution delivery life cycle using both on-prem data technologies and cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure).
    • Develop architectural strategies for data modeling, design, and implementation to solve business problems outlined in client requests and proposals.
    • Research new technologies, data modeling methods, and information management systems to determine which should be incorporated into company data architectures and develop implementation timelines and milestones.
    • Ensure Big Data practices integrate into overall data architectures and data management principles (e.g., data governance, data security, metadata, data quality)
    • Design, deployment, and management of secure and compliant enterprise infrastructure and cloud architectures using Infrastructure-as-Code.
    • Deliver against the strategic roadmap for cloud analytics architecture.
    • Facilitate discovery workshops, articulate the value proposition, build solution architecture with an associated roadmap, and communicate business value to clients.
    • Establish best practices and consistency across various Data on Cloud solutions. Design and build highly reusable and scalable cloud-native data and AI ecosystems.
    • Assist in the development of comprehensive and strategic business Use Cases leveraged at management and executive levels for funding and scoping decisions on Big Data, and AI/ML solutions.
    • Love solving complex problems, be up to date on the latest technology trends and have a strong desire to learn constantly.
    Required qualifications to be successful in this role


    • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field and disciple is required
    • 10+ Years' Experience – at least 7 years in a Cloud Solution and Data Architecture role
    • At least 4 year of previous experience crafting technical capabilities into turn-key offers within a Data practice setting.
    • At least 5+ years of large scale Agile (or Scrum) experience with value streaming, CI/CD and DevOps implementation.
    • 5+ years' experience in developing data pipelines and workflows using technology from the cloud solution platforms, including; GCP, Azure, and AWS.
    • Proficiency in data management systems such as Oracle, SQL Sever, or PostgreSQL.
    • Extensive experience with data integration tools and ETL processes.
    • Experience in traditional ETL tools & Data Warehousing architecture.
    • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with comprehensive, practical experience and knowledge in end-to-end delivery of Big Data solutions.
    • Highly collaborative, with high end consulting skills and the drive to solve multifaceted problems with minimal supervision.
    • Must be a self-starter that is motivated by ambiguity with the ability to indirectly influence others in a large matrix organization structure.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Relevant certification in data architecture or related field (i.e., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), TOGAF, or equivalent),
    • SAFe certified
    • Google, AWS, and Microsoft Azure certified in Cloud Data Architecture.
    • Advanced Cloud data technologies in ML space (Vertex AI, BQ-ML etc.)
    • Experience in GCP/AWS/Azure Data platforms
    • Experience in data visualization tools such as Google Looker, MicroStrategy, Kibana
    • Knowledge of predictive analytics techniques (e.g., predictive modeling, statistical programming, machine learning, analytics, data visualization).
    • Familiarity with different development methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, XP, scrum)
    • Experience working in a high paced, rapidly changing, and evolving environment using a hybrid model approach of both in-office and remote working arrangements
