Supporting Dr.

Franklin, the Office Assistant prepares correspondence, reports, statements and other material, operate office equipment, answer telephones, verify, record and process forms and documents such as contracts and requisitions and perform general clerical duties according to established procedures.


The Office Assistant may greet people arriving at offices, or departments, direct visitors to appropriate person or service, answer and forward telephone calls, take messages, schedule appointments and perform other clerical duties.

Regular Part-Time

Rate of Pay:
$21.48 per hour - $23.25

Hours of Work:
Up to 22.5 hours per week, No guarenteed hours


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education acceptable to the Hospital
  • Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred
  • Successful completion of a Health Care Office Assistant Diploma preferred
  • Minimum 6 months recent, related clerical experience
  • Recent working experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Previous experience with sorting, distributing and filing documents
  • Ability to communicate information accurately and professionally in person, writing and by phone
  • Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills in a very demanding environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
