We are looking a student to work at our premier child care facility in South Edmonton. Shifts are weekdays, between the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm. The position available will be working with children in Kindergarten to Grade 6.

This position is funded by Canada Summer Job Grant and is meant to provide meaningful work experience for those aged 15-30 who are pursuing a future in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or other related fields of study.

Qualified applicants must have Alberta Child Care Certification (level 1, 2 or 3), current First Aid and recent security clearance check.

Employees will also receive a wage top up from the Government. The amount is dependent on your current certification from the Government of Alberta.


Duties:

• Assist in implementing the daily program under the direction of the Child Development Supervisor
• Assist in preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing materials and supplies
• Supervising children
• Assist with housekeeping tasks
• Assist the Child Development Supervisor or Child Development Worker in any appropriate and directed ways
• Maintain a professional attitude and respect for AJM OSC at all times
• Treat all children with dignity and respect
• Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences

Skills Required:

• Understanding Children's growth and development
• Commitment, flexibility and good problem solving skills
• Ability to work as a team member
• High school or Equivalent (required)

Licences and Certifications:

• First Aid and CPR Level C (required)
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (required)
• Alberta Child Care Certification (required)

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 9 weeks


Salary:
$17.55-$24.12 per hour
