Description
We are a growing construction company looking for a Project Coordinator/Estimator to join our team.

Expected hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Work location is at our office in Port Kells but site visits will be required.


Job Duties

  • Participate in the identification and pursuit of prospective projects;
  • Attend bid meetings and develop and execute bid strategy;
  • Analyze project proposals to prepare budget and cost estimate;
  • Review technical Specifications and Drawings for pricing and scope review;
  • Prepare estimates of materials, labour, subcontractor costs, etc. for job bids;
  • Maintain and complete tender processes, including administrative tasks;
  • Continuously update unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts;
  • Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference.
  • Work effectively and accurately in timesensitive situations while delegating to a team;
  • Liaise with existing clients as well as new owners, consultants, engineers and architects;
  • Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
  • Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
  • Effectively determine the bid strategies required for the company to be successful.
  • Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation.
  • Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
  • Act as a safety leader by implementing and ensuring compliance with Met-Stra's OH&S programs
  • Plan, coordinate, and assign work to site crews and ensure equipment & materials are available to complete the required work.
  • Monitor work projects to ensure the safe and timely execution of all activities.
  • Manage administration required to ensure the smooth operation of the mine site.
  • Excellent leadership skills must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct and actionable feedback
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Planning for Construction Projects & Estimating for various largescale projects (bridges, steel buildings, construction projects, etc.)
  • Maintain Confidence with company and teams' best interest in mind

Requirements:


  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required
  • Minimum 3 years estimating experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel and Word).
  • Safety conscious, teamoriented, hardworking, and reliable

Job Types:

Salary:
$70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
