ELITE EXCAVATING INC. is a COR-certified construction company that employs those who are reliable, hardworking and have a positive attitude. We are currently looking to add an Estimator to our team.

Overview:

The person in this role will take on the responsibility to ensure successful execution by formulating quotes, managing quotes, creating project schedules, procuring key materials, hiring subcontractors and overseeing the process of each project until completion.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

Monitoring bid tender sites to seek out new business opportunities
Analyze drawings and specifications
Prepare, review and submit accurate material, labour and equipment cost estimates and proposals in a timely manner
Understand the bid preparation process, estimating softwares, including quantity takeoff and closing procedures
Review, understand and evaluate tender documents and drawings, visualize the work entailed, and prepare a detailed plan to execute work in an efficient manner
Confirming all projectbased paperwork is processed and up to date
Prepare and organize schedules and track progress. Establish strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and employees
Vetting materials and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
Reviewing invoices, contracts and assist with account receivables
Providing excellent customer service through project planning, diligent updates and attending subcontractor meetings
Work closely with internal operations

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating and project management
A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or an acceptable combination of education and related experience
Excellent project planning and organizing skills
Strong estimating experience. Must have experience reading engineered plans and developing cost estimates
Understands construction tenders, drawings, processes, and standards through experience and earned qualifications
Experience with MERX and various other tender postings
Understand scope of work to bid as well as contractual terms and obligations
Ability to maintain good working relations with material suppliers, customers and subcontractors
Highly effective analytical, negotiation and conflictresolution skills
Ability to work under pressure and problemsolve when faced with new challenges
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
Highly organized and detailoriented

Wage:
$28.80/hour - $33.65/hour, based on education, ability and experience in the industry

Expected work hours:
Monday - Friday, 8 hours a day
