    What is the Opportunity?

    RBC Capital Markets is undertaking a green field project to build a new capability to serve corporate clients.

    Your role will be to use your deep knowledge of data, combined with your understanding of client and business needs to create the business context to bring the data governance and metadata management principles to life for the US Cash Management team and clients alike. You are a thoughtful, proactive, creative, analytical individual with a passion for solving problems for your colleagues and clients through the use of data.

    What will you do?

    • Collaborate with USCM data owners/stewards to standardize the business terms (type, definition, classification etc)
    • Develop robust business term definitions, leveraging business knowledge and existing definitions to recommend terms for business partners to review and approve for upload into Enterprise Data Governance tools.
    • Prioritize the data elements and identify the critical data elements for USCM business processes
    • Advocate for the importance of standardizing metadata definition within USCM across the organization through connecting USCM applications' Physical Data Dictionaries to Enterprise Data Governance tooling.
    • Develop a framework for how the platform can consistently apply business context and relationships between metadata assets.
    • Develop trusting relationships with our partners and stakeholders to ensure our deliverables align with the current and future needs of our businesses and prioritized accordingly.
    • Advise the data owners/stewards and application owners on best practices for maintaining a business glossary, metadata, and lineage.

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

    • 7+ years experience supporting a data initiative
    • Experience with metadata management, data governance, data catalog, and lineage
    • Strong understanding of data governance principles, the data lifecycle from collection through storage and usage
    • Proven ability to design, execute, and continuously improve business processes in a fast pace and challenging business environment.
    • Superior organization, prioritization and time management skills and ability to multi-task and shift priorities in an ambiguous environment.
