Duties and Responsibilities:

While duties vary by assignment, the responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising and leading employees on assigned shifts and patrols
  • Effectively coach, motivate and provide feedback when necessary
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of communication, including all Incident Reports
  • Resolving/addressing all complaints in a timely, professional, and satisfactory manner
  • Keeping the Site Manager, client and other stakeholders apprised of all events and incidents as applicable
  • Administrative control of gate records, incidents, and security infraction reports
  • Ensure SWI's (Site Work Instructions), Dress standards, and Safety Equipment regulations are adhered to
  • Coordinate all required sitespecific training
  • Ensure monthly Operational Health & Safety reports are completed and submitted
  • Maintain coordination and control over all keys, passes and logs
  • Manage visitor access lists to appropriate Access Control Points
  • Provide direction, assistance and leadership during emergencies
  • Implement shift scheduling and shift relief as required and complete shift reports at the end of each shift
  • Conducting rounds of the site
  • Completing administrative duties as required
  • Supervising Training of new Commissionaires on site
**Additional Responsibilities: - Ensure the safety of public and motorists while on site

  • Managing staff briefings for daily shift changes and Supervisor changes
  • Manage security and safety of personnel visits by maintenance staff and contractors
  • Cash management for all aspects of the site and ensuring stock levels and correct balance sheet reporting
  • Maintain accurate records, oversee, verify collision/ occurrence reports and ensure the Daily Occurrence Log is maintained to standard
  • Manage traffic control announcements to relevant third parties
  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Be a Permanent Resident of Canada or Canadian Citizen
  • Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted
  • Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Hold a valid, unrestricted Nova Scotia driver's license
