Editorial Assistant Reporting to the Director, this role offers an exciting opportunity to dive into the heart of publishing with duties that include:

  • Produce scholarly and trade manuscripts by supporting the publications manager and editorial team and make ready manuscripts for the art coordinator;
  • Provide editorial assistance to the editorial team by copyediting, proofreading, and factchecking manuscripts, research, and copyright clearances;
  • Correspond with authors, editors, government agencies, and archivists;
  • Contribute to the consultative and development process of trade publications;
  • Research and provide illustrations and captions for manuscripts;
  • Maintain, update, and respond to editorial department correspondence;
  • Assist in website management and troubleshooting;
  • Assist University of Regina Press sales and marketing staff in maintaining office stock, coordinating book tables and selling its titles at local and national book events. Represent the URP in general at trade shows and speaking engagements; and
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Position Requirements


What You'll Bring to this Position:

  • Undergraduate degree combined with two years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;

Physical Demands

Must have the physical ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.

Pay Grade APT 2 Salary Range $54,442 to $73,482 annually Status Term Work Hours

8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday

Some occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
