Pollution Control Attendant - Winnipeg, Canada - Cadorath
Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure pollution control unit is running and all chemicals are stocked.
- Clean sludge press.
- Batch and receive incoming chemicals from suppliers
- Analyze and make chemical additions to plating baths
- Work closely with various departments to support production deadlines and meet customer demands
- Handle confidential information on a regular basis professionally and ethically
- Proactively participate in continuous improvement and 5S activities, taking responsibility to maintain an organized and effective working environment
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees, management and customers
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Electro and Chemical based plating or autobody work considered an asset
- Experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment (or a trade background)
- Mechanical inclined / Mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with hand tools
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints, drawings, standards and specifications
- Sound decisionmaking skills
- Basic Computer Skills required, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Other Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Fluent in English (must be able to speak, read and write in English)
- Available for nonstandard hours and possible shift work
- Able to stand for long periods of time, including bending and lifting
- Able to lift up to 50lbs (lifting of material and products)
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Mature, responsible, careerminded, with a high performing work attitude
- A team player, committed to working in a quality environment, who can also work independently when required
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements and security regulations of The Canadian Controlled Goods Program
The lab is a chemical analysis lab that analyzes plating baths while keeping them running at optimum efficiency to ensure we meet all Aviation and Agricultural specifications and requirements.

Salary:
From $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
