Responsibilities
- Preparing restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
- Attending to customers upon entrance to the restaurant
- Presenting menus, serving and helping customers select food/beverages
- Take and serve orders
- Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/barstaff
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Issue bills and accept payment
- Opening and closing the business as per standards, policies and procedures
- Prepare alcohol or nonalcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Check customers' identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations, particularly a familiarity with AGLC and AHS
Requirements and Skills
- Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience
- Handson experience in cashier duties
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Patience and customeroriented approach
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Proserve is required

Big Fish & Open Range began as a unique dockside style service to Calgarians in 2005 having been originally named 'Big Fish.' Evenings, weekday lunch, and weekend brunch, all featuring menu items unique to the Big Fish experience were served.
Big Fish looked to continuously provided a better experience for guests by staying on top of the latest seafood trends.

Open Range opened its doors in 2007 as a premier Calgary steak and chop house next door to Big Fish.
Open Range mixed modern with tradition, serving every cut of meat you would expect but preparing it with an interesting variation of flavours.
The vision of Big Fish & Open Range came to be in 2020 after success in providing a duel surf and turf experience.
Rather than operating both businesses independently, the decision was made to combine both restaurant concepts - why have one when you can have both? Thus, customers have the opportunity to order from an expanded menu that offers a larger variety of options to appeal to all tastes and cravings.
Since making the decision to combine both restaurant concepts, Big Fish & Open Range has grown to two restaurant locations in Calgary - Renfrew and Marda Loop.
