As part of HHS, the Engineering Department is an integral part of the support services, providing facilities maintenance services to the multiple Hospital sites. The Engineering staff is comprised of numerous and varied trades, including Stationary Engineers in the power plant, Electricians, Plumbers, Millwrights, Carpenters, Painters, etc., all contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the facilities. The department's goals can best be summarized as SERVICE EXCELLENCE.
Position SummaryUnder general supervision, this position is responsible for installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining equipment, machinery, and building systems in proper working order. This role makes repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, steam, and refrigeration systems, and performs other duties as assigned. As HHS is a multisite organization, the role may be assigned to work at any HHS site.

Qualifications 1. Possess and maintain a current Province of Ontario Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate of Qualification
2. Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified tradesperson
3. Previous experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of all types of machinery and equipment
4. Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
5. Demonstrated ability to use tools and equipment of the trade
6. Must be willing to provide own hand tools of the trade
7. Ability to bend, crawl, lift heavy items, climb, and work from ladders and scaffolds
8. Ability and willingness to work in areas that are cold, hot, dusty, dirty, noisy, amongst machinery, at elevated levels and in tight spaces
9. Must be able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment, including a face respirator in areas containing asbestos, or other hazardous materials
