Description

ALCO Gas & Oil designs, fabricates, and assembles oil and gas processing equipment for the domestic and global market. Alco is seeking Sub-Arc Operators to work within our production facility.

Duties include but are not limited to:

The ability to use tools and equipment safely, while abiding by the health and safety rules
Maintaining a clean and organized work area, and helping others maintain their work area
Carries out mildcarbon and/or stainless steel welding requirements for jobs, observing specific guidelines and procedures for welding
Operates and sets up production welding equipment inclusive gouging, and grinding materials
Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications
Submerged arc welding (SAW)
Removes metal and/or prepares materials for welding by gouging and grinding
Ensures all welding equipment is clean and functional
Assists with the maintenance and repair of welding equipment
Adjusts welding heads and tooling according to work specifications

Preferred Skills:

Trade Journeyman or experience apprentice
ABSA Machine operator certificate would be preferred
Grade C Pressure Welder Certificate of Competency preferred but not required
2+ years of directly related work experience
This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices

Working Conditions:

You will work in a large manufacturing facility with other trades present
Longer than 8.0 hour work days may be required with short notice, must be available to work weekends when needed
