    Reporting to the Team Leader of Pharmacy Services and you will be an integral member of

  • Oversee the Automated Dispensing Unit system within all sites of Trillium Health Partners
  • Implement changes and upgrades to ADU system as required for continuous monitoring of patient safety strategies. Test upgrades and work with internal and external sources to implement
  • Conduct training in ADU use to pharmacy, nursing, physicians and allied health accessing the ADU. Review and revise of Policies and Procedures related to ADU use in the hospital
  • Monitor reports and evaluate, provide feedback to pharmacy and patient care managers
  • Collaborate with patient care managers, project managers, pharmacy managers to configure/order new cabinets
  • Advocate for patient safety as part of an empowered team by adhering to advanced pharmacy standards
  • Enhance patient safety by ensuring the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of pharmaceutical product availability on the nursing units
  • Deliver quality patient care and excellent customer service
  • Duties as a Pharmacy Technician, in a computerized, automated, Unit Dose setting
  • In collaboration with other Pharmacy Technicians, you will deliver appropriate teaching to pharmacy students
  • Other duties as required
  • Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Certificate/Diploma for Pharmacy Technician
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
  • Preceptor training with OCP is an asset
  • Membership with the Canadian Associate of Pharmacy Technicians (, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience
  • Experience with Pyxis ADU system is an asset
  • Experience with EPIC hospital information system is an asset
  • Proficient computer application skills . Microsoft Office and ADU systems
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle a variety of complex tasks and issues promptly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and meeting conflicting deadlines
  • Experience in providing exceptional patient centred care
  • Your primary site will be Credit Valley Hospital with assigned days at the Mississauga Hospital therefore ability to work at another THP site is required and travel across all THP sites will be necessary.
