- Schedule warehouse employees to meet customer demand.
- Control warehousing costs.
- Maintain inventory control systems and maintenance services.
- Control product quality from a warehousing standpoint.
- Ensure a safe working environment for employees and secure necessary training to meet needs and regulations.
- Overall responsibility for the requisition and storing of materials and supplies for the facility
- Ensure that facility operations objectives are met.
- Control quality cost, warehousing, receiving, shipping and manufacturing throughout the facility
- Oversee the maintenance of all facility buildings and equipment, including security and protection.
- Participate in facility operational planning consistent with the company objectives.
- Represent the organization in the community and promote the goodwill and interests of the organization throughout the community.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the facility and the company. Maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- Select and develop employees, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the facility.
- Maintain close surveillance and control over facility operations through reviewing reports, staff meetings, observations and personal contact. Ensure coordination of facility functions, budgetary performance, manpower utilization, skills and equipment.
- Responsible for organized change and problem recognition/resolution resulting in cost reductions, work simplifications, method improvements and work aids.
- Motivate all facility employees, encouraging optimum productivity. Develop, train, assist and advise team members, and administer company policies and procedures knowledgeably. Encourage employee communication and endorse an opendoor policy.
- Plan and determine manpower requirements based on an understanding of company goals and objectives. Recommend procedural improvements.
- Oversee the interview/selection process of hiring. Maintain ongoing employee appraisal process, including wage considerations and job transfers.
- Maintain building, grounds and equipment to provide and sustain a quality working environment for maximum efficiency, productivity and return on investment.
- Keep staff informed on matters of new policy, procedures, corporate philosophy and decisions.
- Participate in budget planning
- Work with supply chain to ensure packaging and bulk inventory levels are maintained.
- Promotes open and honest communication
