Operations & Administration

Participate in operations with Senior Management including but not limited to: knowledge of budget, operating expenses, meeting and exceeding targets, cost of goods and controls, labour management, inventory, reporting, variance analysis and record keeping. Drive for continual business improvements and recommendations to drive productivity and profitability.
Product and menu development, quality control, assurance and consistency.
Coordination of point of sale, reservations, inventory and communications systems.
Ensuring compliance and policy management
Labour standards, Liquor control, Health and Safety standards and all government regulations.

People / HR & Environment

Leading by example to provide direction in core values, vision and company standards. Fostering positive company culture, open communication and a respectful team dynamic.
Creating an environment & team that is focused on organization, excellence, quality, proficiency & team work, with full knowledge & understanding of each role within the front of house & ability to guide, support and jump in as needed.
Recruiting, hiring, orientation, onboarding, training, development, retention and ongoing coaching and checkins with team members. Maintaining and developing manuals, materials, employee files and documentation.
Collaborating with the team to uphold landscape & building maintenance, coordinating repairs and maintenance.

Marketing / Promotions & Guest Loyalty

Collaboration on effective marketing and promotions plans. Continued ideas about different forms of advertising, marketing and driving revenue.
Participation in events, and building community & stakeholder relationships.
Inspiring the team to go above and beyond guest expectations, maintaining exceptional levels of product, service and delivery. Brand Integrity ensuring guest & team facing material is cohesive and seeking continual feedback.

This role will be directly responsible for the development and leadership and enhancing the brand as an ambassador. They ensure professional presentation, leading by example and establishing clarity of expectations, creating a culture of accountability and achievement.

As the leader, the GM will maintain business operations by upholding Amici Wine Bar processes and policies, help provide day-to-day solutions, facilitate and provide resources supporting the growth and development of the company.

Amici (Italian for 'friends') Wine Bar is a new hospitality experience, coming to Downtown Abby in 2023.

Inspired by Italy's connection to local agriculture, this modern Italian concept will connect to our unique food in the Fraser Valley, paired with a curated selection of Italian and BC wines, quality cocktails and fine selection of BC craft beers.

The food menu will feature a unique twist on classic recipes, designed for any occasion - family-style dinners, date nights or just a casual bite to eat or drink with 'friends'.
