Key elements of this role include:

As Talent Acquisition Specialist you will:

  • Partner with Nova Scotia Power's hiring managers and HR Business Partners to ensure a thorough understanding of the position requirements and expectations in order to develop a sourcing and attraction strategy.
  • Prepare and manage job postings on Nova Scotia Power's career websites as well as other relevant posting sites to promote the position.
  • Responsible for implementing effective recruitment strategies to create talent pipelines, leveraging Social Media Networks and accounts for the company on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, encourage employee referrals.
  • Oversee the administrative process as well as the applicant system (ATS
  • ICIMS) and manage the background and reference check processes, salary negotiation and creating job offers.
  • Prepare and process hiring transactions and documentation.
  • Participate in networking events, attend job fairs and other recruitment events.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and position Nova Scotia Power as the employer of choice we are.
  • Stay abreast of talent acquisition trends and best practices.
  • Analyze internal recruitment trends to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Take on other adhoc projects and assignments as directed.

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Human Resources.
  • 2+ years of experience in Recruitment/Talent Acquisition with an emphasis on proactive sourcing.
  • Client service excellence centric mindset.
  • Experience in using applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • A power user of all social media.
  • Results oriented and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibits excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled networker, with the ability to quickly develop and maintain working relationships and work in a team environment.
  • Proactive, resourceful and a quick learner who thrives on fastpaced challenge.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision, to multitask and prioritize.
  • Having experience in hiring for unionized positions will be an asset.
