As the Principal Hydrogeologist, you will play a key role in developing work and building a team for a wide variety of physical hydrogeology projects including injection, aquifer evaluation, well design and testing, stratigraphic interpretation, environmental impact assessment, groundwater modelling, mine dewatering, tailings pond assessments, etc.

You will also be involved in contaminant project work, including investigation, characterization, remediation, regulatory liaison, and contaminant transport modelling.

The long-term expectation is that you will be working with various divisions of SNC-Lavalin developing work and managing clients internally and externally.


How will you contribute to the team?

  • Must be a personable and technically respected member of the hydrogeology community in Canada.
  • Proven experience in writing successful proposals, work plans and business development is critical.
  • Strong leadership abilities to build an effective team is critical.
  • Proven experience working at a senior management level.
  • Plan, organize and oversee all hydrogeology activities.
  • Assist in monitoring budgets.

What will you contribute?

  • A degree in geology, hydrogeology, geological engineering, or other related discipline along with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience. A postgraduate degree is an asset.
  • Register or be eligible to register as a Professional Engineer and/or Professional Geologist.
  • Formal project management training will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in HR functions such as hiring and performance evaluations.
  • Experience in communicating and building relationships with clients.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Solid organization and time management abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills combined with a positive, teamoriented attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Valid driver's licence.
