Job Description:
The National Claims team is hiring, and we are actively looking for a Senior Claim Advisor, Subrogation to join our team You will report to the Manager, National Subrogation & Salvage.
Role Designation : Hybrid
Accountabilities:
Deliver and exceed on all key performance indicators as it relates to the total amount of recovery dollars, file closures, claims leakage control and expense management
Develop and execute on equitable recovery strategies on all appropriate files
Develop and execute on Subrogation investigation strategies in collaboration with other claims units
Obtain prompt and reasonable settlement recoveries directly with policy holders and third parties or through external resources
Work with and direct external vendors (legal counsel, engineers) to ensure prompt and considerable recoveries while controlling expenses
To assist claim employees in identifying and investigating subrogation opportunities
Work independently in validating the potential recovery on claims
Take appropriate steps to secure evidence, engage with outside counsel and participate in legal proceedings
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Property, Automobile and Subrogation claims handling acquired through 5 years of claims handling experience
Excellent negotiation skills
Superior problem solving ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to collaborate to reach goals
Highly motivated and able to work well independently
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Bonus Qualifications:
Post-secondary education or equivalent is preferred.
Completion of CIP designation or desire to pursue is preferred.
Previous paralegal experience is an asset
Licensed for other regions is an asset
Experience in working on Guidewire an asset
