- Follow all policies and procedures at the mine site
- Must be prepared to adhere to all legislated regulations and company Health & Safety policies and perform the role safely and ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority
- Good comprehension when reading information and/or receiving verbal instructions as required to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Able to sequence a blast using electric caps and troubleshoot as required
- Load and detonate explosives to produce desired blasting patterns and rock fragmentation in underground mines (electric caps)
- Perform duties required to ensure safety and to support the mining advance, such as scaling loose rock from walls and roof, extending and installing air and water pipes.
- Maintain and inspect explosive magazine & emulsion tank storage areas underground
- Operate various pieces of mine equipment for transportation and to assist in services work that may be required for the blasting area
- Minimum 5 years working full-time in an underground mine environment
- Experience in hard rock mining and blasting procedures
- BC Blasting Certification
- Experience with timing and firing of electric caps
- Experience working with a variety of crews and adapts well to working with others
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and physically handle material up to 50lbs
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Dependable and able to commit to a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation in a remote location
- Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team
- Preference will be given to those who reside in Northern BC, and we encourage candidates identifying as indigenous decent to apply

Based at our project in Northern , this will be a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation opportunity

Pre-employment Requirements:
If this position involves frequent air travel to and from the work site. Applicants must meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work at the remote site camp. You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 21 days on site, 21 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing.
