JOB DESCRIPTION | QC Welding Inspector- Strong knowledge of welding processes

What you will bring to this role:
- Minimum level 3 certified welding inspector from the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB)
- 3+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance for production manufacturing is essential
- Postsecondary education in a related field preferred
- Experience in the structural fabrication environment is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Experience with producing and organizing quality controls to obtain manufacturing efficiency and quality, in a structural steel or custom steel fabrication environment is an asset
- Strong initiative and drive to work independently to deliver results and demonstrate the value of a Quality role to the business.
- Perform visual inspections of final assemblies including welds within the shop, ensuring that inspections and quality control procedures are adhered to customer requirements.
- Perform dimensional verifications and verifications of material condition, grade, and specification to ensure compliance with drawings and/or other specific requirements.
- Confirms work quality, compliance, and work performance adherence to established standards and codes by conducting observations, followup field audits, and weld monitoring.
- Reviewing quality audit data and work with plant employees to ensure necessary changes are implemented to improve product and process controls.
- Ensuring quick resolution of all nonconformances to specifications based on component and fabrication quality issues by preparing comprehensive nonconformance reports and corrective action reports in a timely manner.
- Creating and maintaining quality reference materials based on customer specifications
Inspecting raw materials, equipment, and output, as per control plans and specification requirements
- Interpreting customer blueprints and specifications (including geometric tolerances) and technical information packages.
- Using precision measuring and test equipment including measuring tapes, Vernier's, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, to perform manual inspections.
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and participate in all group health and safety meetings
Performing other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directed.
Salary:
$28.00-$32.00 per hour
