    About the Opportunity

    The Physiotherapist reports to the Program Manager and as a member of a clinical team, the physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and pain management. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.

    The incumbent may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio. Physiotherapists work on weekends in many areas of the hospital.

    About You

    We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
    • Membership with the Nova Scotia College or Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body)
    • Computer skills (statistics input, word processing and Microsoft Outlook
    • Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification. (WHMIS)
    • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

    Hours

    • Long Assignment, Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
    • Approximately a 12-month assignment

    Compensation and Incentives

    $33.97 Hourly
