Description

We are looking for an Entry Level Logistics Administrative Clerk to join our team. With strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills, you learn new processes and systems quickly and work calmly under pressure. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and thrive in a client focused, team-oriented environment. With the ability to adapt to changing priorities, you are flexible and do not mind taking on extra work to ensure the department is at the highest level of efficiency.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Shipment coordination including daily planning, generation of paperwork, carrier selection, booking appointments and followup
  • Be responsive to daytoday issues, take proactive role in improvement initiatives and be a highperforming team player
  • Negotiate costeffective rates with Carriers
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to ensure scheduling within the required timeframe
  • Customer Service responsibilities include communication with shipper throughout the shipment via two way radio
  • Arrange bookings with Ocean Carriers
  • Organize pictures of all containers (rename/resize/refile)
  • Arrange PIER DRIVERS for transport of container to & from Terminal
  • Submit B/L instructions / VGM within timeframe of booking
  • Prepare documentation required i.e. BOL /Invoice/Packing List /Insurance etc.
  • Confirm/Track Deposits from customers, ensure applied correctly to Invoice(s)
  • Send documentation for approval to Customers within 48 hours or less of ATS
  • Follow up with Customer to ensure all details are in order
  • Approve Freight Invoices
  • Cross-Train to be proficient in all duties that the Logistic Team

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Excellent administrative and communication skills, oral and written
  • A strong foundation in delivering excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently in a demanding and fastpaced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc)
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a common sense approach
  • Ability to analyze and determine priorities and adjust as circumstances change

HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm and alternating Saturdays 7:00am to 12:00pm


Salary:
$15.00-$21.00 per hour
