The Technology Training Centre (TTC) is dedicated to providing top-quality software and job skills training in a friendly, hands-on environment.

We serve our U of A community, private and public organizations across Canada and the general public. Our instructors have real-world, practical experience using the software they teach and share their expertise with our clients.


Job description
We are currently seeking a contract Microsoft Office instructor to teach various levels of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience teaching Access, OneNote or Project is an asset but not required. Most classes are scheduled during weekdays with occasional evening and weekend sessions.


You will:


  • Prepare and facilitate courses at various levels online or in person. (Note that our classes are currently only being offered remotely, but inperson sessions are expected to resume in the fall.)
  • Answer student questions throughout the course and in our sixmonth support period following the end date.
  • Work with the TTC team to develop new courses and custom training programs, and revise existing course content.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional classroom environment.
  • Work directly with individuals who need extra support.
  • Provide custom oneonone and group training programs as requested, occasionally at offsite locations.

Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 2 years experience offering adult education courses.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification or equivalent in experience and alternative Microsoft education
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), in software and Office 365 web app format.
  • Knowledge of Access, OneNote or Project is an asset but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years using Office apps in a professional capacity.
  • Experience facilitating classes in person and remotely via Zoom and MS Teams.
  • Able to teach individuals of varying skill levels, including those with little to no digital literacy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Conflict resolution and problemsolving skills.
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work with a diverse population.
