    The successful candidate
    will be responsible for strategic oversight of the experiential learning programs at SMLS.

    The Director, Global Citizenship is responsible for ensuring that students receive age appropriate opportunities for experiences outside the classroom with close curricular ties.

    This role would have oversight for the Global Citizenship program in Junior, Middle and Senior Schools (JK-Grade 12).

    Office / School Environment, Mac, Google , Local/National/International TravelKey Responsibilities Responsible for the people leadership of a team of three in the Global Citizenship department.

    Responsible for the overall research, organization, delivery and risk management of all grade specific blocks of experiential learning activities and exchanges.

    Global Citizenship program review and participation in full school strategic initiatives.

    Demonstrated financial acumen and responsibility for Global Citizenship budget Responsible for the execution of SMLS' Strategic Plan initiatives relating to cooperative education program, specifically the organization of all professional Internship placements (local and abroad).

    Ongoing development of relationships with key service providers, and community partners for Experiential Education and Service Learning partnerships.

    Support curriculum integration of Global Citizenship philosophy and competencies (JK-Grade 12) Work with the Chair of Internal Risk Management Committee, to manage and update Risk Management policies & procedures for overnight experiences Ensure alignment with ministry of education expectations and prepare for annual evaluation.

    Plan and Lead Risk Management training for all staff traveling overnight and/or overseas with students, including multi-night outdoor education experiences.

    Provide direction to Global Citizenship Coordinators in planning and executing Round Square and International experiences. Manage and conduct post trip reviews, surveys and debriefs. Research, organize and oversee all exchange programs run through SMLS. Provide support to Coordinators in the training for all students travelling abroad.

    Organize and liaise between international schools and SMLS regarding any visits to the school, including billeting, if necessary, and planning of activities for the duration of the international schools stay.

    Communicate and promote the Global Citizenship program at SMLS on a regular basis within the community.
