Bear Hills Casino will be a new entertainment and hospitality destination in the Maskwacis region of Alberta.
Proudly owned by Louis Bull Tribe, Bear Hills Casino will generate revenues for Louis Bull Tribe through excellent service and provide employment and skills development for the Tribe's members.
The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for managing all food and beverage operations in Bear Hills Casino and for delivering an excellent guest experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of the Food and Beverage Manager is to provide overall leadership to the food and beverage department.
The Food and Beverage Manager will demonstrate leadership and a professional image to all guests, employees, local community representatives, vendors and governing agencies while maintaining employer standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality assurance and asset protection.
The most important aspects of this position are communication, accountability, and teamwork.
The Food and Beverage Manager has a direct impact on all aspects of Bear Hills Casino from guest services, employees, sales &marketing, annual budgets, business plans, quality standards, physical inventories, and compliance with all provincial and federal laws.

ROLE
This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, deal tactfully and work effectively with Bear Hills Casino management, staff, and patrons.
The Food and Beverage Manager must be able to respond or work on any given day and will be required to work extended hours during the week and on weekends to meet the objectives and deadlines of Bear Hills Casino.
The Food and Beverage Manager must have the ability to:- Prioritize ongoing tasks while focusing on the various objectives and the day-to-day operations;
- Remain calm and always focused under pressure and project this to fellow employees and customers; and
- Focus on the computer for extended periods or spend long periods of time on their feet.
The position of Food and Beverage Manager requires an extraordinary amount of teamwork, including coordination between the General Manager and Food and Beverage Manager, other department managers, and kitchen staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Food and Beverage Manager shall:
- Manage all Food and Beverage and day-to-day operations within the budgeted guidelines and to the highest level of standards.
- Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service.
- Design exceptional menus, purchase goods, and continuously make necessary improvements.
- Identify customers' needs and respond proactively to all their concerns.
- Lead Food and Beverage team by attracting, recruiting, training, and appraising talented personnel.
- Establish targets, KPI's, schedules, policies, and procedures.
- Provide twoway communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis on motivation and teamwork.
- Comply with all Health and Safety regulations.
- Report to the General Manager regarding sales results and productivity.
- Be responsible for booking entertainment for the Community Gathering Space every weekend.
- Assist in coming up with new ideas on how to bring more customers into the Bar and Community Gathering Space through promotions, specials, etc.
- Any other duties as requested.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years senior experience in the food and beverage service industry.
- Demonstrated, broad based operational success in management and leadership is an asset.
- Experience in casino customer service is beneficial.
- May be asked to provide a minimum of 2 letters of reference acknowledging your experience in the food and beverage service industry.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGULATIONS:
- Must complete a criminal record check prior to an interview.
- Must be able to possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company's insurance.
- Must comply with all regulatory requirements as may be applicable including but not limited to both AGLC requirements and the Anti-Money Laundering requirements set out in the _Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act _and regulations and policies made thereunder by Canada and FINTRAC.
- Will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement annually and to implement the same for all food and beverage employees.
- Will be employed under contract. Contract will require annual performance appraisal.
