We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Specialist at our branch in Mississauga, Ontario.

We are looking for a person with strong interpersonal and leadership skills who is driven to overachieve.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Key responsibilities are as follows:

• Responsible for consulting with customers with logistics need.
• Responsible for creating new businesses through contact with prospective customers in the assigned market.
• Responsible for selling new services and promoting existing services to new and established customers.
• Responsible for identifying market trends and competitive rate actions and communicating those trends to the management team.
• Responsible for identifying, targeting, qualifying, and quantifying with directed sales that meet and exceed the business plan forecast.
• Develop, engage and maintain short and longterm forecasts.
• Achieve gross profit targets and other company driven targets.
• Responsible for issuing and maintaining regional RFQs and proposals.
• Responsible for identifying the competitive service strengths and weaknesses of the company and making recommendations to constantly improve services.
• Reporting weekly activities and monthly sales pipeline.
• Responsible for other duties including: sales presentations, writing sales proposals, implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials.
• Extensive regional travel and occasional national and international travel. The employee must be able to travel over 50% of the time and drive a vehicle.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE - Only those that meet the following requirements will be considered for this position.

• Bachelors Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience required.

Minimum 5 years of applicable experience in International Freight Forwarding Sales.

• Proven record of achieving sales targets

Must have, Operational knowledge of Freight Forwarding sector.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Team player with a cando attitude.
• Valid driver's license.

WORK HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT

Normal working hours for this position are typically Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, however, working beyond these hours may be required.

This position is referred to as a full-time exempt position. This role is based in an office environment with extensive driving for customer visits. For full-time exempt employees, the work schedule is typically 40 hours per work week.
