Job Description


Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Account Manager sells products, processes customer orders, provides pricing and/or technical information, and finds solutions to customer problems in a timely manner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Consistently exceed existing customer expectations when processing quotations, orders, reports, RMAs and answering technical questions while offering value added solutions to each customer exchange in order to meet sales objectives (Sales $, GP $ & Margin) (40%);- Proactively research and develop new business opportunities and market Noramco products and services to new potential clients (45%);- Conduct market research of products and pricing for the purpose of promoting new products (10%);- Work cooperatively with teammates in the administration of sales transactions (5%);


DUTIES

  • Ensure all job functions are performed in accordance to the Guillevin Standard Practice Instruction (SPI) Manual;
  • Followingup on every quote, when necessary;
  • Work with sales Supervisor and Manager on quotes valued at $100,000 or larger;
  • Provides basic technical support on products;
  • Builds strong relationships with customers for repeat opportunities and suppliers;
  • Ability to liaise with suppliers on project and nonstocking product opportunities
  • Coordinate and assist, where necessary, the various functions in office sales and administration, including;
  • Liaising with operations and purchasing personnel while entering orders;
  • Liaising with credit department personnel when setting up new customers and when support is required by the credit team;
  • Work respectfully and diligently to grow existing business by promoting Noramco products and consistently offering our expertise and service;
  • Deal with every customer complaint in an expedient manner and ensure they are satisfied with our resolve;
  • Schedule work and allocate resources to ensure orders are fulfilled in an efficient manner and administration (data entry, paperwork) is completed according to company protocol;
  • Ensure superior customer service is the objective during each customer interface;
  • Prospect and develop new business through a strategic process of warm and colds calls;
  • Stay informed of sales objectives, targeted product lines, required marketintel, vendor objectives, and competitor activities and actively promote new knowledge to management and teammates as deemed necessary;
  • Stay current in your profession and enroll in continuing education focussed on sales strategies and account management principals;
  • Ensure proper administration in the management of freight claims and reel returns;
  • Maintain a system of effective communication between operations and sales so that all parties are regularly updated with capacity challenges and service issues;
  • Continuously develop knowledge of product to remain uptodate with various product lines (including vendor training) and industry changes;
  • Provide backup support to the sales department when required;
  • Participate in all department team meetings as required;
  • Performs any other duties as required by management;

REQUIREMENTS:


  • One (1) to three (3) years of industry experience_ preferable_, or a combination of relevant professional training and experience;
  • Good English communication skills, written and spoken
  • Demonstrated people skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of products and services sold within our market;
  • Must be customer service driven;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
