Role Summary:

_Reporting to the Vice President, Sales, The Sales & Business Development Specialist (Retirement Living) is responsible for generating revenue as a result of a direct external sales effort and co-marketing effort with Aspira Retirement Living Communities in the Durham Ontario Region.

_**These responsibilities include maintaining professional relationships in the community, the development and implementation of sales strategies, and achieving sales target for 3-5 Aspira Retirement Living communities.

The Sales & Business Development Specialist (Retirement Living) will target referrals from among the professional medical community, various community-based organizations, related providers, and any other identifiable potential revenue stream.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Identify, target, and generate consistent and continuous referral stream from qualified referral sources as a result of an effective and systematic external business development sales execution yielding both census and revenue growth
  • Identify both new business opportunities and new customer call points within the communities served for additional revenue generation, including achieving quotas of new initial contacts and permanent moveins
  • Identify and complete networking activities as per the regional business development plan; maintain and update the plan consistently to reflect activities; ensure adherence to allocated budget
  • Consistently build up the sales pipeline with qualified prospects from referrals and document referral activity within respective area of responsibility for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinates joint marketing efforts with appropriate representatives of Aspira Retirement Living to identify and meet with both prospective and existing customers, as appropriate
  • Participate in professional societies and activities related to the health care industry and communitybased organizations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Education & Work Experience:


  • Postsecondary education in related field is considered an asset
  • 35 years' experience in consultative sales, preferably in healthcare product and/or service sales
  • A demonstrated track record of accomplished outside sales/account management with a focus on senior services or healthcare
  • Established network of professional business development relationships in Ontario
  • Proven ability to maintain highly effective referral relationships with a large number of professional sources
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel
- _Have a driver's license and are able to travel as necessary around the Durham, Ontario Region_
