The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

You will be responsible for purchasing for a multidisciplinary team of engineers. Your role will be critical in achieving the goals of developing the landing gears of tomorrow.

Your proactive involvement with programs is critical to the success of the projects we are working on. You will have to play a strategic and influential role in purchasing management.

You will analyze requisitions and proposals, negotiate prices, terms, and delivery lead times. You will need to issue purchase orders, obtain drawings / manufacturing techniques when required.

You will manage the contracts and the files as well as follow up with the suppliers to ensure the delivery of the products.

You will be trained in numerous areas, and you will be able to extend your knowledge as you wish.

From the advance use of our MRP system, to the understanding of raw materials selection to the comprehension of Critical Parts in a Landing Gear Development.

Main responsibilities:

Serve as the main point of contact for the project team for procurement on the programs/suppliers to which you will be assigned.
Define the list of potential suppliers and conduct the RFQ exercise on the various equipment/parts of the Bill of Materials for the production of the first prototype gears and first customer deliveries. You will see how a Landing Gear is born
Present and have approved by the management the recommended suppliers.
Negotiate contracts / agreements with selected suppliers in accordance with the mandate entrusted in line with customer contracts.
Analyze requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
Obtain manufacturing plans / techniques when required.
Follow up with suppliers to ensure the delivery of products in accordance with the prescribed deadlines.
Understanding of the parts you will follow and the critical factors that could pace the development.
Interact with the Engineering Team to manage Drawing Changes, improvements in manufacturing, cost, or lead time.
Interact with the Prototype Assembly Shop to ensure parts are prioritized in the correct sequence.
Interact with Quality for resolution of Non-Conformities and Root Cause Corrective Action Analysis.
Identify and communicate critical situations with management.
Update the system with the latest delivery information.
Manage supplier performance (monitoring and feedback)
Visit key suppliers to resolve issues as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or relevant experience. (Master's degree as an asset)
Interest in negotiation and entrepreneurial sense.
Great sense of organization and priorities.
Be able to work in a dynamic and evolving environment.
In love with Team Building and crossfunctional relations.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the aeronautical field, aerospace, automotive, machinery, railway, or highly regulated sectors.
French and English fluency.
Interest in Sports and Social Activities.
Curiosity of the Aerospace Business and Landing Gear Development.
