Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA): - Job Duties
Job Duties - 1. Reporting to the Program Head at Kelsey Campus Library, the Library Clerk is responsible for providing excellent service at the library circulation desk.
- Handle requests for general information; refer higher level reference and research requests to a library technician or a librarian.
- Perform circulation tasks such as check-out and check-in of materials through the automated SIRSI Unicorn circulation module; place holds; maintain reserves.
- Shelve library resources and shelf read.
- Perform cash sales of supplies.
- Provide other clerical support as required (including photocopying and note-taking).
- Responsible for library lock-up as per the established procedures.- QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
- 1. Completion of Grade 12 supplemented with relevant training or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum six months library experience (within the last five years).
- Knowledge of standard library filing systems.
- Knowledge of common office procedures.
- Knowledge of Internet Explorer and up to date with recent technologies including DVD players, desktop scanners, digital cameras, PDAs, cell phones and web publishing
- Training and/or experience in the use of MS Word and Excel.
- Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Ability to learn the Library of Congress Classification System.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrates valuing diversity.**Desired QSA
