Key Tasks & Accountabilities- Responsible for assigning tasks to Shop employees according to their skill and knowledge and ensuring the work is being completed safely and efficiently without sacrificing quality or missing delivery dates;
- Responsible for organizing the workflow by monitoring progress throughout the shift;
- Responsible for employee development through training, verification of competency and monitoring of employee performance.
- Lead and supervise direct reports to ensure the group is meeting delivery times, quality and safety targets;
- Prioritize and coordinate all shop work to ensure all jobs are completed as per the Shop Schedule. Notify the Branch Coordinator and/or Repair Manager of any variances as soon as possible;
- Ensure Shop staff are following SOPs and completing the required inspections, measurements, etc. Verify that the proper documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner;
- Verify that materials are in stock sourcing materials to complete jobs as needed;
- Complete tasks or perform standard duties of a journeyman Millwright in order to get the jobs done and complete all equipment maintenance as required.
- Promote and maintain a positive work environment, encourage a culture with a growth mindset to improve employee engagement and teamwork;
- Manage the performance of direct reports by providing training to SOPs and to safety & quality expectations. Provide guidance and feedback to ensure expectations are being and continue to be met;
- Conduct performance appraisals, goal setting, midyear reviews within the set timelines;
- With the assistance of HR, execute performance management and progressive discipline as required;
- Ensure compliance of all safety policies and operating practices, identify deficiencies and take corrective action as necessary;
- Inspect work areas for safety hazards and observe employees for safe work habits;
- Respond to safety incidents quickly and with appropriate corrective actions;
- Ensure Quality standards are being met and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for our Shop;
- Investigate and resolve assigned NCRs as required;
- Promote and participate in the continuous improvement activities;

- 12 hour shift
- Evening shift
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Machining: 6 years (required)
- Millwright: 3 years (preferred)
Language:
- English (required)
Ability to Commute:
- Edmonton, AB T6N 1B2 (required)
Ability to Relocate:
- Edmonton, AB T6N 1B2: Relocate before starting work (required)
