This role is responsible for maintaining HR systems, conducting orientation and providing support in the delivery of key HR initiatives and projects.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains HR systems including Workforce Now / HRIS, employee notification and onboarding process (new hires, exits, transfers, changes) and ensures information is up to date and accurate. Manages change control process for employee changes / actions.
  • Coordinate with IT to create network access to systems.
  • Issue various types of letters and employment contracts.
  • Provides reporting, analysis and cost projections related to HR activities and projects including workforce changes, staffing, compensation changes and salary surveys.
  • Maintains accurate and comprehensive employee files / records and internal flow of information to Payroll for approved employee action. Ensures documents/ records are maintained and files are archived at appropriate time interval.
  • Updates key people metrics and reports on the following; turnover, career movement, attendance, vacancy days / open positions, training utilization / programs, employee development and other projects/ initiatives as identified.
  • Administers internal job posting announcements.
  • Assists in delivering HR services as required including job posting process, interviewing, conducting termination / employee exit meetings and providing training and support to employees in use of online tools. Answers questions related to HR policies/ benefits/ programs and provides employment verification letters when needed.
  • Coordinates company events that assist in building and enhancing employee engagement. This includes Town Hall meetings, holiday celebrations, retirement events, CPL Scholarship Program, health and safety initiatives, employee service award program.
  • Leads the uniform program which includes measurement and ordering via our uniform supplier.
  • Responsible for locker program distribution of locks and locker assignment and tracking.
  • Responsible for vendor relationships including invoicing and annual vendor reviews (including, but not limited to; uniform vendor, coffee vendor, etc.)
  • Manages MyCPL HR intranet site and CPL campus bulletin boards for content and updates appropriately.
  • Administers and tracks HR employee support programs including but not limited to: education assistance, safety shoes, fitness subsidy, life event recognition, safety glasses etc.
  • Supports audit requirements regarding collection of employee information for external customers/agencies.
  • Answer general HR-Related queries as needed and represent the department well.
  • Filing/archiving, organizing and general housekeeping in the department.
  • Responsible for working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; properly uses personal protection and safety equipment as required by CPL; reports any injury or illness immediately and notifies CPL of any hazards unsafe acts or conditions in the workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS;

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an HR department
  • A Bachelor's degree, and a certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • Strong data entry skills and high attention to detail.
  • Must maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt, respond quickly and manage change in a fastpaced environment.
  • Able to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient use of MS Office software programs. Experience in Workforce Now, ADP, SAP or other integrated enterprise system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Standard office conditions
  • Hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days/week onsite
