Duties and Responsibilities:


Under the supervision of the School Administrator, the PhD Administrator is primarily responsible for administering the PhD program and providing administrative support to the Associate Director (PhD program).


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • A high level of proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and experience with paper and electronic filing and recordkeeping.
  • Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures related to graduate studies and in particular PhD studies.
  • Thorough knowledge of the student functionality in BANNER.
  • Organizational skills, the ability to set priorities, work under pressure, deal effectively with people using tact and maintaining confidentiality of student records.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • Three-year university undergraduate degree.
  • Three years' experience, preferably within an academic unit in a postsecondary environment.
  • Prior graduate experience would be an asset.
