The successful individual will have construction, maintenance/turnaround proposal experience, preferably from the oil and gas industry.

_ office located downtown. This position will report to the Director, Business Development and Contracts._

What would you be doing?

  • Responsible for the development of commercial and technical proposals and presentations;
  • Assessing proposal opportunities for scope and deliverables, researching content, developing technical and commercial proposal documents with assigned team members, and engagement with appropriate internal stakeholders;
  • Ownership and accountability in delivering high quality, complex proposal requests (RFPs, RFIs) including planning, developing and implementing strategy with the Operational, Functional, and Business Development stakeholders, writing, editing, formatting, and compiling proposal packages in compliance with submission requirements;
  • Manage the proposal deliverables from the start to completion including client clarifications;
  • Research and review client and project information to provide thorough, accurate, qualitative proposals and analyze RFPs/RFIs client requirements/documents to ensure submissions are focused, creative, articulate, and compliant;
  • Organize and manage all files, documents, submission packages and client deliverables in a dynamic environment with the ability to identify the scopes of work, subcontracted potential work based on specifications, drawings, and RFP documents;
  • Outlining tasks to complete RFP, assignment of responsibility, adherence to proposal preparation timelines, delegation of appropriate or any required activities to Proposal Coordinator and Operational/Functional support;
  • Leading the team in developing the commercial strategy of proposals;
  • Quality assurance and control of documentation, commercial information, and overall proposal for accuracy and alignment with requirements;
  • Ensure all meetings are setup with structured agenda and/or required information packages and complete the minutes of meeting for proposal life cycle meetings including proposal kickoff, estimate review, risk review, proposal review, status updates;
  • Adherence to structured internal process;
  • Plan, design, and format proposal layouts, including resumes, project profiles and client timeline histories in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, or MS Project as required;
  • Review of contracts/terms and conditions, consideration of the commercial requirements, and suggestions for any exceptions;
  • Capture and document estimate and follow through clarifications and assumptions in proposal preparation meetings and reviews;
  • Technical writing as applicable in conjunction with Functional and Operational support;
  • Submission of compliant proposals in accordance with deadlines, through multiple online platforms;
  • Managing post bid clarifications and developing the technical and commercial responses in coordination with operations and functional team members.

  • A proven a highly organized professional with the ability to prioritize workload efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple proposals at the same time and under tight deadlines
  • Efficient computer skillsets including Microsoft Office Suite i.e. MS Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, and Adobe Pro others as required;
  • Ability to create, maintain, organize and deliver high quality accurate organized documentations on time.
  • Excellent business acumen;
  • High attention to detail throughout the proposal submission;
  • Have 35 years of experience in Proposals, preferably in the construction or related industry;
  • Degree or a related diploma in Business, English, Technical Writing/Editing, Education, or Communications is preferred. A combination of education and/or relevant experience may be considered.
  • CET or PMP is considered an asset.
