About the role:

Reporting to the Mine Coordinators, the Underground Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an underground crew while meeting daily targets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide effective, frontline supervision of daytoday activities for a designated crew.
Inspire, motivate and provide feedback to crew members to ensure safe and strong performance.
Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, legal requirements, as well as adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
Ensure that employees and contractors adhere to all safety standards and site procedures.
Chair safety and morning lineup meetings.
Plan daily mining activities including coordination of ore/waste haulage, stope management
Liaise and collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance departments to achieve daily production targets.

You Training, Skills and Experience Check list:

Minimum Grade 12 education, college/trades diploma or university degree preferred.
Completion of the Ontario Supervisor's Common Core Program (#P
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a large underground mine with demonstrated leadership competencies.
Demonstrated ability to motivate others and initiate change that yields positive results in terms of safety, production and cost management in the Mine department.
Minimum 510 years' experience with underground trackless mining including Tele Remote operations
Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Highly effective communication skills, organization, detailed planning and execution.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external and internal partnerships of the Mine Department.
Proficient computer literacy.
Welldeveloped communication skills, (oral, written, presentation).
Current and valid driver's licence preferred.
Previous experience working in a culturallydiverse work environment would be preferred

Working Conditions:

The work schedule for this position is 14 on, 14 days off, working 12 hour days.
