Position Summary

Thales is looking for a
Warehouse Lead who will be an integral in the success of daily operations relating to the timely and efficient flow of material and equipment through the warehouse and dockyard to support ship maintenance activity.

Manual and automated functions include but will not be limited to the processing of receipts, shipping requirements, inventory control related tasks and material routing functions to/from the dockyard for maintenance work.


In this role, as the Warehouse Lead, you will direct and actively participate in daily warehouse operations while working closely with the Procurement and Service Delivery teams.

You will also engage with other internal departments including Engineering and Quality while also liaising with external organizations including the customer.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform and direct warehousing functions relating to inventory management:


  • Receiving

  • verification and inspection of incoming material and documentation, process goods receipts.
  • Shipping prepare domestic, US & international outgoing freight IAW packaging specifications; complete documentation and labelling while complying with customs and export requirements. Action and schedule shipping requirements with couriers and freight forwarders; track freight, resolve frustrated cargo situations and identify areas of improvement in distribution.
  • Ensure accuracy of material demand, ship to location and relevant notes/comments on the Delivery documents to support repair and maintenance activity.
  • Process requests for spares, issue, pick, package & move material; distribute parts for customer delivery.
  • Locate and store inventory in designated & approved storage areas IAW hazardous goods and other applicable statutory regulations.
  • Process returned material (not required, repairable, damaged, rejected or scrap); identify routing requirements and ensure accuracy of documentation to support asset traceability; process, track and report on status.
  • Operate delivery vehicles, forklifts and other material handling equipment (MHE); load/unload transport vehicles & containers; and responsible for general daily housekeeping to maintain a high level of cleanliness in the work areas.
  • Monitor stocking levels and material master data:
  • Schedule, lead and execute stocktaking activity including cycle counts and special inventories; track and record physical counting, recounting, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies as a result of investigations.
  • Administer material master data changes.
  • Perform parts consumption analysis to identify required inventory and recommend adjustments.
  • Track material availability and delivery dates, following up to expedite delivery and resolve problems.
  • Generate and purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinate, record and execute movement of Material Assets, including but not limited to:
  • Component repair and overhaul (R&O) activity, monitor repair lines and schedule, track and report on status, expedite availability from repair to maintain stocking levels.
  • Repairable equipment and special tools/test equipment.
  • Maintain equipment calibration program liaising with relevant stakeholders, track and report on status.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 35 years of relevant experience performing similar activities within a supply chain environment.
  • Experience working within Procurement and/or Supply Chain & Warehousing environments.
  • Previous experience in the use of SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Open minded and able to listen and share ideas while bringing added value / capturing innovation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Adept at problem solving; maintaining attention to detail while working autonomously.

Special Position Requirements

  • Physical demands: Predominantly office based but may be required to lift up to 22kg/50lbs and walk or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Role will require working primarily on site from the office and may require transferring between two warehouse sites.
  • Schedule: 40 working hours per week Monday
  • Friday.

Pay Transparency


The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is based on $46, $92,047.34 CAD Annual range.
