Count Team Supervisor

Schedule:
Early morning availability; Fixed work schedule; Overtime

Reports to:
Cage Manager and Cage Director

Overview of the Position:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing the activities of the Count Room(s)
to ensure the integrity of all currency and chip counts derived from EGD's and poker tables, as
well as ensuring compliance with the Kahnawake Gaming Commission regulations.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and supervise a team of Count Team Members, ensuring their adherence to
policies, procedures, and performance expectations.

  • Provide guidance, support, and regular feedback to team members, fostering a
cooperative and motivated work environment.

  • Train new team members on Count Team processes, equipment operation, and security
protocols.

  • Maintain protection of large amounts of chips and/or currency, ensuring loss prevention
by showing great attention to detail.

  • Ensure that procedures and proper controls are followed to protect counted receipts.
  • Ensure the accurate counting, sorting and recording of the monetary instruments.
  • Safeguard the integrity of counted funds and implement necessary security measures.
  • Sustain close control of all activity in the Count Rooms by maintaining an awareness of
changes and/or problems; which may affect the security of the currency and chips in the

Count Rooms.

  • Maintain visual and electronic surveillance of personnel to certify prevention of
monetary loss.

  • Perform and observe counts, review count slips, and reconcile total funds to ensure the
integrity of the count.

  • Transfer receipts to the Cage and the corresponding documentation to the accounting
department on a daily basis.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot counting equipment, such as currency counters, sorters and
strappers.

  • Order and stock parts for equipment repair to ensure proper operation and
maintenance of all equipment.

  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Have knowledge of the regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's
department.

  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Optimize the utilization of resources, including staff, equipment, and workspace, to
maximize efficiency and productivity.

  • Report illegal activity to Security and Surveillance or appropriate levels of Management.
  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment and Playground's goal and vision.

Requirements:

− Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
− Ability to identify, count and stack different denominations of gaming chips and
currency.
− Ability to move or lift full and empty cash/chips boxes weighing up to 30 pounds each.
− Ability to remain standing for the majority of shift and efficiently move around the
counting room area.
− Must be at least 18 years of age.
− Flexibility with scheduling (holidays, special events, and extended hours).
− Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with experience of business specific software or
− Fluency in English and French (written/spoken).
− Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
− Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing
priorities.
− Experience in counting, management and supervision is a strong asset.

Responsabilités:

  • Diriger et superviser les membres de l'équipe de comptage, en veillant à ce qu'ils respectent les politiques, les procédures et les attentes en matière de performance.
  • Offrir des conseils, un soutien et de la rétroaction régulièrement aux membres de l'équipe, en favorisant un environnement de travail coopératif et stimulant.
  • Former les nouveaux membres de l'équipe aux processus de l'équipe de comptage, au fonctionnement de l'équipement et aux protocoles de sécurité.
  • Assurer la protection de grandes quantités de jetons et/ou d'argent, veiller à la prévention des pertes en faisant preuve d'un grand souci du détail.
  • Veiller à ce que les procédures et les contrôles appropriés soient respectés pour protéger les reçus comptés.
  • Veiller à l'exactitude du comptage, du tri et de l'enregistrement des instruments monétaires.
  • Préserver l'intégrité des fonds comptés et mettre en œuvre les mesures de sécurité nécessaires.
