MAINTENANCE WORKER - Full time permanent


Parkland CLASS is a family based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life of children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights.


We are looking for a full time Maintenance Worker to provide general maintenance to 34 properties in Red Deer and 1 property in Lacombe.


Reporting to the Property Manager, responsibilities will include: routine maintenance to all of the facilities operated by Parkland CLASS, including minor repairs in plumbing, electrical, heating, carpentry, appliances, painting, drywall; moving furniture and other related household maintenance tasks as required; identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and situations; performing preventative maintenance, and monitoring and participating in routine yard maintenance.


The ideal worker will be able to demonstrate the ability to work with individuals-in-service, trouble-shoot, identify and solve problems, implement innovative and/or creative solutions to problems, work independently, lift up to 75 lbs.


Requirements:


  • Completed Grade 12 Diploma with additional course work in the trades constructions and/or maintenance field
  • Medically fit to perform job duties
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Acceptable Driver's Abstract
  • Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Record Check

Hours of Work: 40 Hours/Week, Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm, however flexibility in schedule needed as there will be some weekend and/or evening work required.


Wage:
