The Hamlet of Gjoa Haven is Recruiting a Community Economic Development Officer

There are exciting opportunities for Gjoa Haven's economic growth in the areas of tourism, fisheries development, carver and other arts programs, hospitality and construction/contracting.

The Hamlet wishes to employ a motivated individual with skills and experience in the areas of office administration, proposal writing and project management, to lead Economic Development initiatives in the community.

Facilitating community and economic development planning

• Researching and providing recommendations to the Community Economic Development Committee on local opportunities
• Assessing the results of economic development studies and agreements and making recommendations.
• Promoting community and business opportunities
• Community relations
• Writing proposals/seeking funding and building partnerships for initiatives in the community that support local employment.

The wages for this position are dependent on skills, training, and experience and range from $34.31 per hour to $41.74 per hour.
