The International Transition Coordinator Clerk will work up to 24 hours per week, with shifts scheduled Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up with students who have submitted travel and arrival plans and need assistance (i.e., with general information, temporary or longterm housing, airport pickup, general onboarding, etc.)
- Data entry of all information relating to student travel and arrival plans including mandatory requirements and document uploads.
- Assisting students with troubleshooting with respect to their arrival information, travel documents required, uploading study and work permit information, and other necessary tasks for student transition and settlement
- Organizing and preparing data, including the creation of various reports to support ITCs
- Assist ITCs with workshops, webinars, and other student events and activities as required
- Provide inperson, front desk coverage as required.
- Other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Possible weekend/offhours assistance as required on an asneeded basis
Qualifications:
- Oneyear Post-Secondary Certificate preferably in an office administration or businessrelated field
- 18 months of related practical experience
- Experience working with large database systems
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy competencies, as well as respecting confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in demanding situations
- Related practical experience working with newcomers to Canada and new Canadians is an asset
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal communication skills to work with diverse student populations
- Excellent oral and written communication, and listening skills
- Highly developed problemsolving skills, client service skills, and ability to respond with tact, diplomacy, discretion, and professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrate patience and appreciation for cultural differences when dealing with international students or those for whom English is a second language
